Iran with more than 80 million populations has Annual value of 14.5 billion USD garment consumption. TGU turnover is more than 40% (about 6 billion USD) of this value.
Textile and garment industry has 7000 years background in Iran. Although Iran has made less progress than international development process during past century, TGU intend to compensate the lost opportunities relying on Iran’s culture and civilization and 25 000 manufacturer’s and 50 000 Retailers’ efforts in entire Iran.
Iran has the advantage of accessing to raw material effortlessly by the ability of producing raw materials such as cotton, wool and petrochemical yarn.
Iran can offer Iranian design, style and production having inspired by several thousand years of culture and civilization.
Due to its geographical location, energy resources and low cost labor, Iran can have very fast growth in fashion and garment industry. Targeted cooperation and interactions with successful countries can have an important role in this fast growth and bring mutual interests for both sides. It should be mentioned that TGU as a director of Iranian Garment Specialists Committee has a significant role in codification of strategies, offering macro-development strategies , advising the government and development of garment industry.
Iran garment industry has been damaged by international sanction and dumping by countries such as China and Turkey during the past 4 decades. However this industry has been able to gain the large domestic market share because of strategic management of TGU and efforts of its members and industrialists. TGU has been pioneer in making strategic and efficient international connections after Iran’s nuclear deal with the P5+1 and The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, with the aim of establishing constructive transactions for common interests and accelerating of development process of Iran garment industry.

    Negotiations and signing MoU with the Clothing Manufacturers Association Of India (CMAI) and signing MoU with Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC)

    Efficient negotiations with Sistema Moda Italia (SMI) and Signing MoU with SMI in the presence of Prime minister of Italy and Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran. Also negotiations with Istituto Marangoni on the subject of offering its educational courses in Tehran (Italian government support and SMI management measures have an important role in developing mutual cooperation between Iran and Italy.
